England

When I was 10, my older sister and I were sent to England to boarding school. We went to King Edwards School, Witley. The school was especially for children from broken homes - which we were because our parents and brothers remained in Nigeria for a while.
Mary was 12, and went straight into 2nd year high school. I had just turned 10, and was placed into first year, a year younger than my classmates.

Left the UK in 1970 when my whole family emigrated to Perth.

Many things happened, and several countries later Peter and I moved westwards from Turkey to the UK for 2007-8.

Sheffield

Initially we worked in a Summer School at Sheffield University. My blog was titled: "The British Job".

Torquay

Then we had a job in Torquay, in Devon, teaching some Swiss boys at a short 14-day course. We stayed on in Torquay, house-sitting for a missionary in Afghanistan, and thinking about teaching some "Home Stay" students. That didn't work out, but Torquay was lovely.

My blog was "Torquay Talkie".

Norwich

Then we worked in the ESL department of the University of East Anglia, in Norwich, East Anglia.
We lived in a typical "2-up-2-down" terraced house in the middle of Norwich.

My blog was called: "Porridge in Norwich" (because 'porridge' and 'Norwich' pretty much rhyme.)
